Legislative Update – March 2010

The 2010 Kent School District Replacement School Programs and Operations Levy and the Replacement Technology Levy were approved.  Passing the Replacement School Operations Levy provides funding for staff to support smaller elementary class sizes, extra help to address larger class sizes at the secondary level, transportation services, safety programs, and extracurricular athletics and activities programs. The Replacement Technology Levy allows the district to continue providing current equipment such as student computers for classrooms and libraries, multimedia stations, and classroom computers for teacher use. With current technology in our classrooms, students become better prepared to live and work in the 21st century.
