Carriage Crest PTSA
Goals & Objectives 2008 – 2009
- To support the
Mission, Objects and Goals of the WSPTSA.
·
Keeping parents informed
of legislative issues that affect children and education.
·
Providing information to
assist parents in helping children with the challenges they face in
today’s world.
·
Developing programs that
encourage parents to be actively engaged in their child’s education and
school.
- To support and
enhance the curriculum.
·
Providing programs, such
as Reflections, RAD Reading, Math Mania, Science Fair, Book Fair, and
After School Programs.
·
Providing Teacher
support, such as allocating money for classroom supplies.
·
Providing funds for
assemblies that support the curriculum and entertain the students.
·
Providing scholarships
for Field Trips and 6th grade outdoor education program.
- To promote the
health and welfare of the student body.
·
Strengthening
our emergency preparedness for major, regional disasters.
·
Providing emergency lunch
supplies and clean
dry clothes in the Health Room.
·
Supporting a healthy
environment through Germ Busters.
·
Providing appropriate
playground equipment and making necessary improvements.
- To promote
school spirit and family involvement at home, school and the
community.
·
Offering events that
bring families together for inexpensive entertainment with other
families such as: Skate Parties, Ice Cream Social, School Dances,
Family Fun Nights, Monster Mash Bash, D.V.D. (Dad’s Volunteer Day), and
a Variety Show.
·
Broadening our Outreach
program to encourage participation/membership in PTSA among parents who
have not been involved in the past.
·
Providing opportunities
for students to help kids in need beyond our own school community.
- To seek out,
encourage and develop parent leadership and involvement in Carriage
Crest PTSA.
·
Attending 2009 WSPTSA
Convention & Advanced Leadership Training.
·
Attending Legislative
Assembly and participating in Focus Day.
·
Attending Region 9
Leadership opportunities (PTA & Law, Fall & Spring Conferences).
·
Proactively communicate
with parents through the School Reader Board, PTSA website, the Howler,
the Yelper, and Volunteer board to encourage participation in PTSA
activities.
- Achieve 100%
PTA Membership to ensure every child that attends Carriage Crest has
an adult representative and voice.
·
Develop and implement a
comprehensive Membership Campaign.
·
Have a membership table
at PTSA events.
·
Implement a “Thanks for
Your Support” Program through our newsletter, to acknowledge those who
have joined our unit.
·
Include a PTSA membership
report in every newsletter. |
