 President’s Message 
 

We hope everyone had an enjoyable spring break!  Whether you were able to get away to some place sunny and warm, or you just stayed in the local area, we hope you were able to spend time together as a family!

We honored our 2009-2010 Outstanding Educator (Darrick Carr); Golden Acorn recipient (Heidi DuPuis); and Outstanding Advocate (Fairwood Albertsons) at the annual Founders Day Dinner on April 16th.  It was a wonderful event where all the Kent area award winners were recognized.  Congratulations again to this year’s winners!!

On April 13^th, CCPTSA sponsored a "Mission:  Possible" respect and bully prevention assembly.  It was a fun and interactive assembly that showed students what they could do when encountering bullying and how to stop it.  Fun was had by all and a great message was sent.

Last month you should have received the annual budget survey in your child’s Coyote Envelope.  You can also access the survey on our website… www.ccptsa.com.  If you could take the time to complete this survey and turn it in by Friday, April 23^rd, we would appreciate it.  This survey will be used to plan our budget for next year.

Membership surveys are in.  13 out of 385 surveys were received.  The data gathered from this survey along with the Budget survey results will help guide us towards what activities we should focus on next year and how much funding is needed for them.  Thanks for taking the time to provide input!

Looking at the calendar, we have quite abit coming up.  Kindergarten round-up is at the end of the month on April 27^th.  It will be our chance to welcome the new families and students to the school and show them what a great school Carriage Crest is.  Teacher appreciation week starts on May 3^rd.  This is a great time to remember all the teachers and staff and show them how much you appreciate all they do.  On May 4^th, we will have our PTSA board meeting where we will review next year’s budget.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  We hope to see you there!  May 7^th is Dad’s Volunteer Day, RAD reading celebration and the annual Walk-a-thon.  May 21^st is our Family Fun Night and Silent Auction.  This year a movie will entertain the kids while the parents get to bid on some wonderful items including art projects from the Art Docent Program.  Check our website for times.

We need to point out a few other changes to the calendar.  This year’s Variety show, “60’s Kids” has a few date changes.  Auditions will be held on April 28^th, 6:30pm-7:30pm.  Rehearsal will be on May 6^th, 6:30pm-8:30pm; Tech Rehearsal on May 13^th, 6pm-8:30pm and the Variety Show will be held May 14^th, 6-9pm.  Please mark your calendars accordingly.
