We would like to welcome back all of the returning students and the new students to Carriage Crest !  We are Julie Arndt and Lisa Thiel-Sloan, your PTSA President and President-elect for the 2008 – 2009 school year.

We are looking forward to another wonderful year full of fun events!  I want to thank the staff, teachers, PTSA Board of Directors and Committee Chairs who worked in a collaborative effort to plan our school year!  We have a fabulous year planned for you!

We have a few new things happening this year.  Our website will have a minor “facelift” in the upcoming months with new graphics.  We are also trying to go “Green” by reducing the amount of PTSA flyers going home.  In an effort to do this, we are introducing the “Yelper” which will be a weekly newsletter for upcoming events.  We are going to continue the tradition of the PTSA Calendar.  Look for that to come home within the next few weeks.

We have had a very busy month so far, and school has barely started!  Hopefully, everyone enjoyed their ice cream at the Social and the latte and goodies as we began our school year! 

As you all may know September is National PTA month.  Please don’t think that to be a member you have to volunteer.  PTA appreciates everyone’s membership, whether or not the member volunteers; our members at Carriage Crest increase PTA’s ability to advocate for children. 

Don’t forget to come to the first Dance of the school year.  You will have fun dancing while supporting our community with the donation of new socks & underwear!

As we begin our year, please take the time to let us know how we are doing.  Feedback is crucial so we know how best to support the school and our PTSA Members.  As always, please know that you are welcome to attend our PTSA Board Meetings on the first Tuesday of every month.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Lisa or myself.
