Emergency Supplies and Special Projects Needs
Last updated 5/21/07
These are some of the
supplies on our list that might be found as surplus items at home. All
of these items would be just fine if they are used as long as they are
in good working order. If necessary, we can repair holes in blankets or
tents. If you have any questions on whether something would be
appropriate please contact
Rochelle Long. We will be updating this list as we receive donations
so if it’s on the list, we still need it. Bring donations to the office
and let them know it is for the emergency supplies.
Special Project – Kid
Blankets
We are
going to cut up some Kid sized blankets from fleece. They will probably
be around 36” x 50”. We are not making enough for the whole school but
we want to have a special supply of about 50 for special needs like the
injured or especially cold. We don’t have the fleece yet but we are on
the lookout for cheap fleece over the next year. It would be great to
have someone take on this project of finding and cutting up the
blankets.
Special Project –
Triangular Bandages:
No donation is needed
for this one, just time. I need sheets cut into 100 triangular
bandages. I have the sheets. I just need a few people who would be
willing to cut them up. A rotary cutter would make quick work of these.
Special project –
Cribbing Blocks:
We need about 45’ of
4x4 posts that will be used to make 18” long cribbing
blocks. These can be recycled if they are in good structural condition
and not rotten. They are used to prop up large heavy items that have
pined people after earthquakes. We will take any amount of posts to add
to our collection. Email me so I can determine if they will work.
Gather those lunch meal
toys and other small entertainment items! We will hold a small toy
drive next year of items to add to our emergency supplies. So find a
little box and make yourself a little collection.
Supplies that we really
need:
